A Telford-based business is celebrating national recognition after being honoured with the prestigious King’s Awards for Enterprise, recognising its contribution to economic growth and opportunity.
Thermserve, based in Telford, has received awards for International Trade and Promoting Opportunity through Social Mobility, marking the fourth time the company has been recognised through the King’s Awards.
The business, which provides specialist thermal solutions to the metals industry, has seen sustained growth across global markets, with increased demand from the Middle East and North America.
Also recognised is construction specialist Pave-Aways Limited, which delivers major projects across the Borough. The company received its first King’s Award for Promoting Opportunity through Social Mobility, in recognition of its “Looking After Our Workforce” initiative.
Launched during the pandemic, the programme focuses on supporting employee wellbeing and career progression, benefiting nearly 500 people, including many from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Now in its 60th year, the King’s Awards for Enterprise are the UK’s most prestigious business awards, celebrating outstanding achievement in international trade, innovation, sustainable development and promoting opportunity.
Councillor Lee Carter, Leader of Telford & Wrekin Council, said: “We are incredibly proud to see a Telford business recognised through the King’s Awards for Enterprise, alongside a company making a meaningful contribution through its work across our Borough. This is a fantastic achievement and reflects the strength and ambition of our business community.”
Councillor Ollie Vickers, Telford & Wrekin Council Cabinet Member for The Economy and Transport, added: “These awards highlight the role that businesses connected to Telford play both locally and internationally. Thermserve’s continued success in global markets and Pave-Aways’ commitment to supporting its workforce are excellent examples of how businesses can drive growth while creating real opportunities for people.”
