Pegasus opens new recycling facility in Telford
11th August 2025
Pegasus is proud to become part of Telford’s business community with the opening of its new Aggregates & Recycling Centre a strategic investment that strengthens sustainable construction and infrastructure delivery across the West Midlands and beyond.
Situated in the heart of one of the UK’s most innovative and well-connected regions, this latest facility at Rookery Rd, St George's underlines Telford’s growing reputation as a centre for forward-thinking industry.
By transforming construction waste into high-quality recycled materials, Pegasus is helping to build a circular economy – reducing landfill, lowering carbon emissions, and delivering greener outcomes for the environment.
Telford’s strategic location, skilled workforce and exceptional connectivity make it a natural choice for ambitious, sustainability-led businesses like Pegasus.
As home to a vast array of companies across key sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, and digital technology, Telford offers a dynamic and supportive environment for innovation and growth.
Kelsey Trapszo, Pegasus, Business Development Manager, said: “This new facility builds on the success of our Stourbridge site and underscores our dedication to sustainable development, innovation, and long-term regional impact.
We’re excited to play a role in shaping a cleaner, greener, and more resilient future for the area.”
The new site will:
> Boost the Local Economy – supporting job creation, local supply chains, and stronger partnerships with councils, developers, and landowners.
> Champion Sustainability - less than 1% of waste processed ends up in landfill – with recovered materials reused in housing, infrastructure, and utility projects across the region.
> Enhanced Regional Capacity - The Telford facility expands the firm’s ability to support large-scale developments across Shropshire, Staffordshire and the wider Midlands.
Pegasus’s expansion into Telford is more than a growth milestone, it’s a shared commitment to the future.
Telford is a place where makers, movers, and creators thrive, and Pegasus is proud to contribute to that energy.
Councillor Ollie Vickers, Telford & Wrekin Council’s Cabinet Member for the Economy, said: “The opening of Pegasus’s new recycling centre is excellent news for Telford.
“Not only will this create new jobs for local people, but it will also be a huge boost for the local economy.
“We look forward to seeing Pegasus continuing to flourish and prosper with the opening of this new centre.”
Councillor Carolyn Healy, Telford & Wrekin Council’s Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, Planning and Sustainability, said:
“This investment in Telford is a strong vote of confidence in our Borough’s sustainable growth ambitions.
“It reflects the strength of our local economy, the attractiveness of our strategic location, and the forward-thinking businesses we continue to attract and support.
“This new facility not only boosts regional capacity in recycling and construction but also contributes directly to our shared goal of building a greener, more resilient future for Telford and the wider West Midlands.”
